In September, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 15 series which will include four models – iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Even though there have been a lot of leaks regarding the iPhone 14 series successors, Apple has not yet made any official announcements. There were earlier rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max would come with a periscope camera, but a recent tweet suggests that only the iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature it. The iPhone 15 Ultra moniker has also been dropped. Now let’s have some latest news for iphone 15 pro max.

According to Twitter user @URedditor, the periscope camera will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Unfortunately, no further information has been revealed about the periscope module. When asked about any changes in the camera layout of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the tipster replied that there were no significant changes.

Previous rumors had suggested that the periscope lens would offer up to 5-6x optical zoom. Additionally, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had mentioned in June of last year that the telephoto lens of the phone would use periscope technology, enabling up to 6x zoom while taking pictures with the rear camera without any distortion or loss in image quality.

It’s worth noting that rival smartphones such as the Google Pixel 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra already have rear camera units that offer 5x to 10x optical zoom, while Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 series won’t be featuring a periscope lens on all models. According to leaks and rumors, the vanilla iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone 15 Pro won’t be sporting a periscope lens. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be equipped with this feature. The periscope lens is said to enable up to 5-6x optical zoom, which is lower compared to some of its competitors.

Additionally, all models in the iPhone 15 series are expected to feature Dynamic Island, a technology that enables the rear camera to move slightly in order to produce better image stabilization. It’s also speculated that the non-Pro models will be fitted with LTPS displays while the Pro models could come with LTPO displays, which will offer improved battery efficiency.

According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are anticipated to be equipped with the A16 Bionic chip, whereas the Pro models might feature the more powerful A17 Bionic SoC. The upcoming models are also rumored to have a USB Type-C port for charging. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to sport ultra-slim bezels of only 1.55mm. On the other hand, the non-Pro models might come with a redesigned camera bump and a better 48-megapixel wide camera sensor.
